I read an article on how to create sprites (pixelated characters) using opus 5.5, and the results were crazy good. So I decided to make a medieval fantasy game, which I've been wanting to make for a while. Hope you enjoy!

Can you blog about the process? The game is neat!

Thanks, I honestly just used claude code and use matt pocock's /wayfinder skill just for the first stage. I said use plain js and html, no external libraries. Then I used chatgpt's speech to text to transcribe what I wanted the first stage to look like. Plugged that into claude code with opus 5.5 (opus is unbeatable rn). It thought for 30min, I saw the result, asked for a few changes to the trees and a few stuff. And wala, it was done.

For the other stages I just transcribed my voice and it usually one shotted 95%. I made tweaks as needed to monsters or gameplay.

Music and sound effects was from https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page. Victory music from https://stocktune.com/free-music/pixelated-dreamscape-quest-...

What amazed me was the amount of taste claude had out of the box. The word taste might be overused, but claude made the church on the first stage perfectly. As well as the castle in the last stage. It knew what details to add to make it look real, I barely had to add detail.

Can you share the article too, please?

I read through that article, but it’s basically just: here’s a prompt and now feed it into Sprite Fusion’s proprietary API.

That’s totally fine but it does mean reliance on an additional paid service outside of a conventional LLM. Is that what you did?

You don't seem to understand how HN works. There's no queue for a start.. what are you measuring? Stories are never removed (unless flagged by enough of the community - that's not HN powers either, unless you mean "everyone else"), they do climb up/down the front page.

How often do articles get deleted from the queue? Very odd
