The only nations in the world that are "standing up to Trump" are China and Brazil. .
That's not good company to be in. Every other country, including most of Europe, has hammered out some kind of deal with America
I think our leaders, and frankly most of our country, needs to grow up and be pragmatic. Is what Trump is saying acceptable? No. But am I willing to see 10s of thousands of Canadians lose their job over some spat with the current American president? No
Thing about "American hegemony" and "middle power". And this "associate member of the EU" without any clear defined role or responsibility of privilege therein seems to be more political theater when what we need is results. I'm sorry but as a Canadian I feel like our leaders are morons more interested in their legacy and fame than they are in the wellbeing of everyday Canadians

The he unilaterally scrapped the deal because of “fentanyl”.

So did Canada, and Trump wiped his ass with the deal the moment he needed a distraction from another scandal. Canada is lucky to have leadership that understands the next "deal" will be equally disposable to America.

In the relatively long-term, I'm also interested to see what's going to happen with the expansions at Churchill. It's still certainly small right now but there's an interesting opportunity going the northern route.
