I’ll admit, I believe I did worship the role once. I sincerely believed software developers and technology was one of the main sources of goodness, to the point where I thought this type of person was the “ideal” person. I saw it as God, as best as I knew.

If I didn’t snap out of it, then today I’d have no choice but to worship technology and technology creators even further due to AI.

Just curious who else is able to articulate the phenomenona of this because I do believe it occurs at macro scale. For example, I believe people in the medical field worship doctors and medicine as a main source of “goodness”, which I believe is misguided.

Some women worship women (feminism ).

Some racists worship their race (racists)

Some worship their country (nationalist)

Some worship their intellect (academic/engineer/doctor/scientist/educators)

Men worship men in so many ways.

And so on …

It’s stunning how much of our society is built on have a clear structure of worship, as in, without it, the person cannot spin their gears in any meaningful way.

Some worshipped the idea of a 10x engineer. Looking back at all this, I almost feel like .. my god, what a waste.
