Is this a cynical play to gain points for the midterms, after which they'll promptly about-face?

I do wish the Dems would come out against both surveillance and datacenters, since they're heinously unpopular, but most are too cowardly to stand for anything but the most milquetoast positions...

A flock is used for a group of sheep. These are AI cameras to watch the sheep. We are their flock of sheep to watch. What an awesomely bad choice of name for the company.

Flock has managed to do what few before have accomplished -- elevated its brand to Google-like status in terms of people associating the entire category of its service with its brand name.

Too bad for them that its for a category that virtually everyone (rightfully, IMO) hates, across all political lines, putting them into a situation where this strong brand recognition is a negative.

Shitty mass-surveillance video device? That's a Flock camera!... even if it isn't actually a Flock camera.

it keeps tagging the repub's favorite people, the police. so yeah flock can't survive, not because of the people, but because of all the bad apples it keeps outing.
