I'm not a UX person, but have seen an increasing trend of the two terms being used interchangeably - it's actually a really interesting and nuanced field (more rooted in psychology, information architecture, and human centred design).
It's sorta like how a lotta folk assume SRE is just a neologism for "devops" and in the process miss out on the really interesting differences

My friend signed at listed price for a 1BR in Hayes Valley. A month later his neighbor said they signed the same floorplan for less, with a free month.
Couldn't find anywhere that tracks what tenants actually negotiate vs what's listed. Zillow, Zumper, Apartments.com, all listing prices. So I built this.
Anonymous, no login, no ads. Tap the map, pin your rent. 500 people added theirs in the first 24 hours in the bay area.
Pan the map and the stats update live, median, average, and total saved vs listed for whatever area you're looking at. Zoom out and clusters show the median rent and pin count per neighborhood at a glance. Three additional views on the same data: rent control value, buyout calculator, and concession tracker.
Built with Leaflet + OSM + Supabase.
