Is this dumb? A "mother may I" hook for Claude Code

I've been super annoyed by the various solutions to the "mother may I" thing with Claude code, and I haven't really had a solution I liked - because I really just want to specify my preferences in human-readable versions. This is an attempt at that, but I'm not sure if I'm exposing myself horribly with this pattern? Is there some simple way to improve it?
